Theresa Wenzel, Chief Operating Officer of CORE4 Atlanta and 25-year sports-industry veteran, has spent time at every level of sports; pro, college, high school and youth. 

Prior to starting her own company, OTE, LLC (Ordinary to Extraordinary), Wenzel served for three seasons as President of the WNBA, Atlanta Dream after serving as a top athletic administrator at Georgia Tech.  Wenzel joined the Yellow Jackets in 2005 as business manager, before being elevated to the position of Senior Women’s Administrator in 2006.  She was honored as the 2011 Administrator of the Year by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA).

During her tenure at Georgia Tech, Wenzel oversaw the women’s basketball, golf, softball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s track and field and volleyball programs.  Under her supervision, the Yellow Jackets women’s tennis team captured the 2007 NCAA National Championship.

Wenzel was also the athletic department’s non-academic liaison to the Office of Student Affairs while at Tech and was a member of numerous committees including the Georgia Tech Women’s Resource Center Advisory Board, the Title IX Compliance Committee, the GTAA Compliance and Equity Committee, the ACC Women’s Basketball Committee, ACC Softball Committee and the ACC Women’s Tennis Committee.

Prior to arriving in Atlanta, Wenzel served as the Associate AD for Business Operations at Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y.  She also handled the head coaching duties for the Saints women’s golf team until her departure in 2005, guiding Siena to five consecutive Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) titles (2001-05).

A basketball letter winner at Marquette University, Wenzel earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration.  Wenzel continued on to earn her master’s degree in sport administration from Canisius College where she also launched her career in sports as the assistant women’s basketball coach for three seasons (1994-97).

Wenzel is a passionate advocate of diversity and inclusion by working to create parity in the corporate space and equity in the educational space as a result of teaching leadership, negotiation, communication and conflict resolution skills to individuals of all backgrounds including corporate and athletic administrators, athletic coaches, young professional and young student-athletes. Wenzel loves learning and sharing her life experiences to support shortening the learning curves of others.
